Rust Craft Calculator
How much sulfur, charcoal and metal you need for C4, rockets, satchels or gunpowder. Set the quantity and the calculator breaks down every resource. Plan your farm run ahead of time instead of finding out you are short on sulfur after the third furnace.
One C4 costs 2,200 sulfur, a rocket — 1,400, a satchel — 480. The difference is not just price but craft time: gunpowder smelts slowly and 8 C4 needs 24,000 charcoal. Use the raid calculator first to figure out how much boom your target actually needs.

Gunpowder and Explosives in Rust — The Basics
Gunpowder is the foundation of all explosives. 10 gunpowder takes 10 sulfur and 30 charcoal. Explosives are made from gunpowder, low grade fuel and metal fragments. C4 and rockets are then crafted from explosives plus additional components.
Sulfur comes from yellow sulfur nodes, charcoal from burning wood in a campfire or large furnace. A single raid on a 2x2 stone base requires at least 8,000-10,000 sulfur — that is two to four full large furnace loads.
FAQ
How much sulfur for one C4 in Rust?
2,200 sulfur per C4. On top of that you need 3,000 charcoal, 200 metal fragments, 60 low grade fuel, 5 cloth and 2 tech trash.
How much gunpowder from 1,000 sulfur?
1,000 sulfur gives you 1,000 gunpowder (1:1 ratio on sulfur). Every 10 gunpowder takes 10 sulfur and 30 charcoal.
What is more efficient to craft — C4 or rockets?
By sulfur-per-damage they are about the same. C4 costs more per unit (2,200 sulfur) but one C4 replaces 2 rockets. Rockets are more flexible — you can dose the damage more precisely.
With Resource ESP sulfur nodes are visible through terrain — plan your farming route in advance instead of running around the map hoping to stumble on ore.
